Art

Donated by Tanner - Tim Carmody began his artistic career as a photographer. After specializing in B&W printmaking in the 60’s, he began to explore other mediums using photography as a base. This led first to painting and later to the creation of his own method which used lino-cuts, paint and ink. In the 1980’s-90’s, he moved into sculpture and video. After working as an artist for 40 years, Tim still feels as passionate as ever and is looking forward to doing more art. He recently moved from Laguna to Fort Bragg, where he’s purchased a storefront in the heart of downtown Fort Bragg. There he operates a studio and gallery where he shows his paintings, photographs, prints and wooden sculptures.

To see more of his work, stop by Tim Carmody Arts on Franklin Street.

If anyone has redefined contemporary street food in San Francisco, it’s longtime pals Evan Kidera and Gil Payumo’s Señor Sisig fusion food truck. With their special twist on a Filipino happy hour dish sisig, Señor Sisig took the portability of their favorite Mexican taqueria dishes and melded the two together to reflect their diverse palette and down-home appeal. Though sisig is traditionally made from parts of the pig’s head bought from the butcher to make use of the entire pig, Señor Sisig’s more palatable version uses the meatier pork shoulder. They also have an outstanding version with chicken and tofu, every bit as filling as its porky counterpart.

Try it once and you’ll be hooked! As Senor Sisig continues to expand, you won’t have to wait too long to experience a truly unique take on a traditional Filipino delicacy. It’s fast, it's fun, it’s flavorful, and best of all, it’s truly San Franciscan.

A Taste of Temescal - Five Restaurants

San Francisco Magazine, March 2015 issue: In yet another demonstration of its burgeoning fashion sense, Temescal has acquired this cool new izakaya, where the chilled sake flows freely and chicken hearts sear on the robot grill. Sashimi? Sure. But better still are the skewered meats (picture any protein - you'll find it impaled here), robust miso ramen, and assorted warming small plates that all but beg for booze. The space is all had lines, with a chalkboard menu listing daily specials that change as fast as the neighborhood.

$100 Gift Certificate

A good meal seems to bridge gaps, to warm hearts and somehow, to connect people. I have been very fortunate in my travels. I’ve eaten the most incredible meals and one thing I know for sure is that wherever I’ve been, the best food, the most memorable food, is always food made with love. Our philosophy at Cholita Linda is to have fresh, vibrant food that not only tastes of Latin America but that speaks its tradition, its culture and its warmth.
