#9 AIDS/LifeCycle East Bay Wildcats Training Ride
Distance: 58.2 mi Elevation: +3909 / -3907 ft The motivation to get up out of bed to train for AIDS/LifeCycle this morning was almost nil. But I did. Why? Because I reminded myself that the folks who rely on our fundraising to benefit the @sfaidsfound and @lalgbtcenter sometimes don’t have a choice. I trained today, but not as a training ride leader (TRL). We had a great group of newbies, veterans, and volunteer TRLs. I opted for half Diablo via St. Mary's Road, Tice Valley to Crest, then Danville Boulevard to Lunardi's. From there, Camino Tassajara to Blackhawk Road & go up the S Gate and descend on N Gate Road through Walnut Creek, Lafayette & Hidden Valley. . Rides of 20 & 30 miles were available as an out and back. A 46-mile route without the Diablo climb was available as well. . I rode mostly by myself and as I climbed towards South Gate, I was asking myself WHY?! And I just needed to remind myself. . I did it. Got back home and went to the gym with John and I treated myself to a double cheeseburger, onion rings and coffee malt — boy, am I full and tired. . Have a great weekend and for those that still have clocks, don’t forget to set them 1 hour forward for Daylight Savings Time. And for my friends and family who are continuing to help end HIV/AIDS? Please go to: . . http://www.tofighthiv.org/goto/artdesuyo . . We will #RideLoveLive until HIV/AIDS is a thing of the past. . . . . #aidslifecycle #endhivaids #giving #givingback #community #cycling #anniversary #doublecheeseburger #friends #ride545 #sftola #coffeemalt #onionrings #yummy
