Thank you Mark Smith for my first AIDS/LifeCycle training ride for 2019. I appreciate you, George, George, and Stephanie volunteering as our Training Ride Leaders (TRLs) keeping is safe and motivated.
.
This gorgeous route which took us from Orinda BART to Hercules via Bear Creek Road (known as the three bears) and back via Castro Valley Road definitely had me huffing and puffing, especially since my last time on a bicycle was August 2018 on a 22.8-miler/285 ft-elevation ride with one of my cycling mentors, Bill Harwood.
.
Justin Riestra, ALC newbie and dear friend, impressed me with 1) opting for the Three Bears route vs. Castro Valley route to Hercules (my first thought was, “Damn, I’m not ready!” and 2) hearing him say, “on your left” as we climbed Papa Bear. You go Justin!
.
Justin is well on his way to being ready for the 7-day, 545-mile adventure.
.
My family and friends already know that I don’t just do this for fun, to wear spandex, be silly, be tired and have sore legs. We are all committed to help #endHIVAIDS. I will continue to raise funds to combat this disease until we reach the day that no one has to anymore.
.
Less than 124 days ;-) until we ride out from the Cow Palace to ride from #SanFrancisco to #LosAngeles for 7 days and over 545 miles to help #EndHivAids.
.
And for my friends and family who are continuing to help end HIV/AIDS, please go to:

You are our #Heroes #RideLoveLive #TakeCareOfEachOther and we think about why we give, roadie, and ride
.
.for those who can't
.for those who live
.for those who give
.and most of all, for those who can't live if we don't give
.
#PositivePedalers #EndingStigma will #RideLoveLive until HIV/AIDS is a thing of the past.
